PRINCETON, N.J. – Columbia rookie guard Noruwa Agho is the Ivy League Rookie of the Week, as announced today by league officials. It is the first weekly honor for Agho, who has had a solid start to his collegiate career, including a career-high 21 points on Dec. 29 vs. Sacred Heart.
Last week against Sacred Heart and Lehigh, Agho averaged 14.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals while shooting 80 percent from the foul line.
Over his last five games, Agho is averaging 12.2 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.2 steals. The New City, N.Y. native has scored in double figures in three of his last five games.
Junior guard Kevin Bulger gained a spot on the Ivy League’s weekly honor roll after averaging nine points, eight assists and 6.5 rebounds per game. Playing a number of positions on the court, Bulger recorded nine assists, nine points, and six rebounds in 37 minutes against Sacred Heart, and then added nine points, seven assists and seven rebounds vs. Lehigh.
Columbia is back in action tonight, Monday, January 5 against American at 7:30 p.m. in Washington, D.C.
