Six Selected To IWLCA Zag Sports All-Academic Honor Roll

The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) has honored 402 student-athletes from 102 different institutions on the 2017 IWLCA Zag Sports Division I Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible for this honor, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater.

With both teams trading slight edges throughout the game, the Bears connected in overtime to grab a 14-13 win over the Lions. Despite the loss, Columbia saw a variety of impressive contributions on the field with three players scoring hat tricks.

In her final of 13 saves on the day, goalkeeper Kelsey Gedin made a clutch game-saving stop in the final seconds to give the Columbia lacrosse team a 15-14 victory over Yale in an Ivy League thriller at Robert K. Kraft Field. The Lions made history with the win, marking their first season with multiple Ivy League wins as they improve to 2-2 in conference play. At 7-5 overall, Columbia surpasses last year's six-win season and is the most since 2009.
