Columbia Athletics to Host Varsity C Celebration on May 1

Columbia University Athletics closes the 2017-18 academic year with its annual year-end awards ceremony, the 97th Annual Varsity C Celebration: #OnlyHere in New York, N.Y. on Tuesday, May 1 at Roone Arledge Auditorium in Lerner Hall. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the official program runs from 6-7 p.m.

Student-Athletes Recognized at Academic Achievement Luncheon

Columbia University Athletics recognized 326 Dean's List and 55 student-athletes for achieving a perfect 4.0 term grade point average at its 20th annual Academic Achievement Luncheon last Tuesday at Low Library. Both totals represent the highest number of Columbia student-athletes honored in each category over the last five years.

Athletics Hosts Annual Social Networking and Career Event

On Tuesday, February 20, female student-athletes from several different sports programs gathered in Dodge Fitness Center's Lou Gehrig Lounge for the 2018 Women's Consortium. Columbia previously hosted the event in 2016 and this year's discussion-based gathering brought student-athlete voices to the forefront of the program.

Ivy League Enhances Exposure With Long-Term ESPN Agreement

The Ivy League and ESPN have agreed to a long-term relationship to showcase Ivy League events through a variety of ESPN platforms, including at least 24 events annually on ESPN's linear networks and more than 1,100 annually on ESPN+.

Ivy League Men's Lacrosse Tournament Tickets Now Available

The 2018 Ivy League Men's Lacrosse Tournament is coming to New York City. The tournament, which is being held at Robert K. Kraft Field at Lawrence A. Wien Stadium on the campus of Columbia University for the first time, is set for May 4 and 6. It's the first time in the history of the event that the tournament will take place at a predetermined site.

Nominations for Columbia Athletics Hall of Fame Now Open

Columbia Athletics is seeking nominations for its Class of 2018 Athletics Hall of Fame class, which is scheduled to be inducted at the University's bi-annual banquet on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2018 at Low Library. The seventh annual Athletics Hall of Fame induction ceremony will kickoff Columbia's 74th annual Homecoming Weekend.

The event gave fans full access to both coaches before both Lions teams begin Ivy League play this weekend at Princeton (Friday) and Penn (Saturday).

Athletic Trainer Jim Gossett Inducted into EATA Hall of Fame

Columbia University Associate Athletic Director for Sports Medicine and Head Athletic Trainer Jim Gossett has been inducted into the Eastern Athletic Trainers Association Hall of Fame and '49 Club, the organization announced on Monday. He was honored before nearly 1,500 athletic trainers, athletic training students and other healthcare providers at the EATA's 70th annual awards banquet held Saturday evening at the Sheraton Hotel in Boston.
