The Columbia archery team took their talents to Cancun over spring break last week to gear for the upcoming outdoor season. The Lions posted several impressive performances competing in the Mexican Grand Prix from March 13-18, led by a silver medal finish in the individual compound by Sophia Strachan.
In a finals match the would come down to a shoot-off, Columbia archery's Sophia Strachan came away with the silver medal in the compound of the inaugural head-to-head finals to cap the 49th U.S. National Indoor Championships. The top eight archers in each group from their qualifying regional site scores competed at the Duke Energy Convention Center in Cincinnati on Thursday and Friday
NEW YORK – On Feb. 17 -18, the Columbia archery team hosted the first C.U. Open (A Pink Arrow Project Fundraiser) at the Columbia Archery Training Facility. The Lions welcomed a number of archers in an event that also helped raise funds for the mission of the Pink Arrow Project.
Manchester, Conn. - In their second tune-up of the indoor season, the Columbia archery team competed in the New England Indoor Open Archer Championship on Friday, Feb. 9 – Sunday, Feb. 11. The Lions put together several impressive performances including a first-place showing from sophomore Sophia Strachan in the compound.
Mays Landing, N.J.– The Columbia archery team kicked-off the indoor season on Saturday, Feb. 3 at the 2018 Atlantic Cape Eastern Seaboard. Sophomore Sophia Strachan posted the top score in the compound with an impressive 588 points, shooting a new personal record by a single point. First-year Brittney Shin placed second in her inaugural collegiate tournament with a score of 561, along with a fourth-place finish by first-year Deborah Teo at 532 points.
Archery Announces First C.U. Open ( A Pink Arrow Project)
Set to launch its fifth year as the game-day home for Ivy League live events, the newly-branded Ivy League Network (ILN) will welcome a number of broadcast and user-experience enhancements in the 2017-18 academic year.
Columbia archers Christine Kim and Sophia Strachan competed in the the 133rd U.S. National Target Championships over the weekend, putting on medal winning performances admist some of the greatest archers in the spot.
