Golf Programs Sign Agreement With Haworth Country Club

The Columbia Golf Program has signed an agreement with Haworth Country Club as one of its home practice venues, Director of Golf Rich Mueller and Women's Golf Coach Amy Weeks announced on Wednesday afternoon. Haworth will allow the Columbia men's and women's golf programs an additional practice facility as well as the opportunity to host annual collegiate tournaments, an alumni, friends and family tournament, along with golf camps.

First-year Jeremy Perna became Columbia's first-ever Ivy League Rookie of the Year recipient and senior Mert Selamet earned his third All-Ivy League honor as the conference released its 2017 men's golf awards on Tuesday. The awards were voted upon by the league's eight head coaches.

Senior Mert Selamet and first-year Jeremy Perna both concluded Ivy League Championship play tied for 10th place in the individual standings at seven-over-par 223 Sunday at the Stanwich Club. The Lions finished the three-day championship in seventh place with a 314-286-309-909 (+45).

To say Saturday was a great day for the Columbia men's golf team at the Ivy League Championship is an extreme understatement. First-year Jeremy Perna (second place) and senior Mert Selamet (eighth place) came out on fire as the duo carded low round two-under-par 70s and senior Arjuna Anday added a 71 (-1) to spark the Lions to a championship team-best two-under-par 286 score Saturday at the Stanwich Club.

Men's Golf to Compete at Ivy League Championship

The Columbia men's golf team will travel to Greenwich, Conn. to compete in this weekend's Ivy League Men's Golf Championship Friday through Sunday, April 21-23 at The Stanwich Club. This is the first time the three-day, 54-hole championship event will be contested at the 7,133-yard, par-72 course. The teams will play 18 holes on each day.

Three Golfers Place in Top-25, Lions Place 7th at Rutherford

Three Columbia men's golfers—first-year Jeremy Perna (13th), senior Arjuna Anday (17th) and senior Mert Selamet (22nd)—all placed among the field's top-25 golfers at this weekend's Rutherford Invitational held Saturday and Sunday at the Penn State Golf Course. Behind the play of all three, Columbia finished the 54 holes in seventh place at 36 holes at plus-32 (294, 293, 297-884).

Senior Arjuna Anday placed 13th with a three-over par to lead the Columbia Men's Golf team to a sixth place finish in day one of the 41st annual Rutherford Invitational Saturday at Penn State Golf Course. The Lions tee off the final round at 8 a.m. on Sunday morning along with Rutgers and Binghamton.
