NEW YORK – Columbia Athletics announced that women’s soccer’s Emma Anderson and Anders Hill from football have been named Student-Athletes of the Month for September.

Anderson registered seven goals and two assists in nine contests. She was named Ivy League and NCAA Player of Week on September 25 after scoring the game-winner in a 2-0 win at Cornell and netting a hat trick to go with two assists in an 11-0 win over Wagner. Anderson, a product of Bethesda, Maryland, also found the back of the net at Saint Joseph’s and twice in a three-minute span against Sacred Heart. Her strong play has guided the Lions to a 2-0 start in Ivy League play.

Hill completed 39-of-59 passes (61.5 percent) for 757 yards and seven touchdowns in three games and guided the Lions to their first 3-0 start since 1996. The senior went 27-of-40 for 400 yards and a pair of touchdown passes, including a 63-yard strike to Ronald Smith II with 1:12 remaining in the fourth quarter in a victory over Princeton September 30. Hill became the first Columbia quarterback to throw for 400 yards since 2011. A native of Boulder, Colorado, Hill tossed four TD passes against Georgetown and rushed for 89 yards and added 199 through the air in a season-opening win over Wagner.
