Ivy League Release

NEW YORK - Columbia women's soccer Emma Anderson was named Co-Ivy League Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.

The junior forward put together a phenomenal weekend with 10 points on four goals and two assists to lead the Lions in a pair of wins over Cornell (Sept. 22) and Wagner (Sept. 24). Anderson fired in the opening goal on the road at Cornell to spark a 2-0 victory in the Lions Ivy League opener. She followed with a three goal and two assists performance in the Lions 11-0 win over Wagner on Sunday. Columbia's 11 goals mark a new program single-game record, surpassing the 30-year old previous mark of 10 set in 1987.

Anderson has pushed her scoring total to a team-high seven goals this season, tied with teammate Natalie Neshat who also earned a weekly performance honor roll selection. Neshat found the back of the net in both games against Cornell and Wagner to join Anderson as the Ivy League leaders in goals this season. The senior has scored in five of the last six games for the Lions.

Columbia (5-4-1, 1-0 Ivy ) returns to action Saturday, Sept. 30 at 4 p.m. as they look to remain unbeaten at Rocco B. Commisso Soccer Stadium in an Ivy League match against Brown (8-2, 1-0 Ivy).
