Murphy graduated from Hamilton College in 1997 with a degree in philosophy and is currently pursuing his master’s degree in sports leadership at Northeastern. He earned three varsity letters at Hamilton while playing for his father, legendary coach Tom, from 1994-97. The elder Murphy ranks third all-time in Division III head coaching wins with 635 and is a member of the New York State Basketball Hall of Fame.
