Coach Mangurian on Niko Padilla: Should compete for a starting defensive tackle spot. Played well last season. Provides strength and run stop ability inside. Needs to improve his overall footwork and hand placement. Neutralize is good, shed needs to improve. Tough, competitive and strong. Can be a productive inside pass rusher. Has had a great off-season.

At Parish Episcopal School: As a junior was the District 2-4A overall MVP and first team all-state on offensive and defensive line ... finished 2012 with 73 tackles, 16 sacks and 37 tackles for a loss ... earned TAPPS first team all-state on offensive and defensive line.
