Women’s Golf Claims Fifth Place at Bucknell Invitational
NEW YORK - The Columbia women's golf team wrapped up play Sunday at the Bucknell Invitational, playing their best round as a team (308), and the best round of any team on the day, to finish fifth overall. Freshman Monique Ishikawa finished her first collegiate tournament tied for second (70-84-740--228).
Kristyna Pavlickova of Boston Universtiy won the event, posting a three-round score of 220 (75-71-74).
Michelle Piyapattra finished the tournament with a final-round score of 78, good for 15th place (80-73-78--234). Jane Dong and Joanna Henry each recorded their best rounds of the tournament Sunday. Dong carded a 77 to complete the event tied for 21st (80-80-77--237), while Henry registered at 79 to finish tied for 37th (80-85-79--244). Spenser Krut finished in 59th (83-79-91--253).
The Lions (313-316-308--937) finished the tournament just seven strokes back of top-finisher BU (317-304-309--930).
Columbia will next be in action Monday, Sept. 17, taking part in the Murray State Drake Creek Invitational.
