LIONS WRAP UP ROAD SWING AT COLGATE
Columbia women's basketball heads to Colgate to play the final game of a three game road swing on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
Sophomore Caitlin Unsworth posted a career-high 16 points but it would not be enough as the Columbia women's basketball team fell to Bryant, 68-54, in nonleague action Saturday afternoon at the Chace Athletic Center.
Columbia (1-6) came out strong in the first half to finish with a 22-22 tie at the break, but Bryant (2-4) pulled away in the second half to even the series in what was just the second meeting between the teams.
Unsworth, who checked off another career high with four three-pointers, went a perfect 4 of 4 from the line while adding two assists and a steal in just 18 minutes of action. Senior Courtney Bradford pulled down eight of Columbia's 26 rebounds as Bryant outrebounded the Lions by a +21 margin.
ALL-TIME SERIES VS. COLGATE
Columbia, looking for its third straight victory over Colgate, leads the all-time series, 4-2, as the teams meet for the seventh time tonight. The last time the Lions and Raiders faced was back in 2002-03, when Columbia grabbed a 78-63 victory.
SCOUTING THE RAIDERS
Currently on a three-game losing skid, the Raiders wrapped up a five-game road swing last Saturday by dropping a 59-53 decision at Sacred Heart. Missy Repoli leads the way for Colgate with 9.6 points per game. Jhazmine Lynch is the team's second leading scorer, averaging 8.1 points per game behind a 93.8 percentage (15 of 16) from the charity stripe. Defensively, Josie Stockill has a team-best 6.0 boars per game, while Lynch is averaging 1.57 steals.
