Menís Golf Takes 11th at Seahawk Invitational
WILMINGTON, N.C. – The Columbia men’s golf team concluded play at the Seahawk Invitational Monday, finishing in 11th place. The tournament was shortened to 36 holes after rain delayed play Sunday and players were faced with 20-30 MPH winds throughout the second round Monday.
First-year Harrison Shih led the way for the Lions, finishing in a tie for 28th. Shih posted an impressive 73 in the first round and concluded the tournament with a total score of 157. Senior Stephen LaRouere finished the 36-hole event with a combined score of 160 to finish tied for 43rd. His 82 on Monday was the lowest round for the Lions.
Junior Andrew Kim also finished in the top 50, coming away tied for 48th with a two-round score of 160 (76-85). Senior Ford Fischer and Sophomore Brandon Jowers rounded out Columbia’s lineup. Fischer tied for 59th with a 165 (77-88), while Jowers finished in 64th (82-84—166).
The host, UNC Wilmington, won the event with Seahawk Payne McLeod taking individual medalist honors.
Next up for Columbia is a trip to New Haven, Conn. on April 6 to compete in the Yale Invitational at The Course at Yale.Columbia Final Scores
