Penn Relays Results

PHILADELPHIA - A fantastic performance in the women’s distance medley relay highlighted opening day of the Penn Relays for the Columbia track and field team on Thursday, April 25. The quartet of Erin Gillingham, Sharay Hale, Trina Bills and Waverly Neer combined for a new school record time of 11:07.68 to place third in the Championships of America race. The Lions squad finished ahead of Ivy League foe Princeton and defeated a number of big conference schools, including LSU, North Carolina and Penn State.

On the field, Nnenna Okwara took fifth place in the women's hammer throw with a mark of 53.40m. First-year Madelyn Magee showed well in the eastern women's high jump as she cleared 1.64m to capture 11th-place overall.

NBC will showcase the USA vs. The World series on Saturday, April 27 from 1-3 p.m. EST. From 3-5 p.m., live coverage of The Penn Relays will air on NBC Universal, making it four complete hours of live action from Franklin Field available to fans in high definition television on Saturday.
