NEW YORK - Columbia women's soccer head coach Kevin McCarthy has announced six student-athletes will join the team for the upcoming 2013 season.

“This year’s recruiting class is not big in number, but this class is about quality, “ said McCarthy. “Strong character, positional variety, international experience and technically gifted athletes are just some of the traits we have welcomed into our program this season.”

Mary Fitzpatrick

Hometown: Johns Creek, Ga.

High School: Marist School - Atlanta, Ga.

Club Team: Atlanta Fire United

Fitzpatrick was a four-year soccer letterwinner and a four-time All-County first team honoree throughout her career at Marist School . In her senior campaign, Fitzpatrick earned a 2013 GHSA Varsity All-Star team nod, guiding her team to a 2013 GHSA State Championship.

As member of Atlanta Fire United club team she is a three-time State Cup Champion taking the title in 2008, 2010 and 2011. The New York City born athlete has played soccer in six different countries as a member of the U-17 and U-19 Republic of Ireland National Team.


Courtney Garrity

Hometown: Fountain Valley, Calif.

High School: Fountain Valley High School – Fountain Valley, Calif.

Club Team: CFC United

Garrity arrives to Columbia after spending last season at Orange Coast College. With the Pirates, the Califronia native tallied 15 points including four goals and five assists in her first season. Garrity earned second team All-Orange Empire Conference honors.


Elizabeth Judd

Hometown: Stamford, Conn.

High School: Rye Country Day School - Rye, N.J.

Club Team: NY Rush Patriots FC

Judd was a five-time varisty soccer letterwinner since her 8th grade season, she is a four-time CT State ODP selection and a three-time Western New England Prep School Association All-Star Team member. She has received three all-league nods and was voted team Most Valuable Player in her final season. The midfielder helped lead the Wildcats to a 2011 NY State Independent School Championship finals appearance.

In her time with the NY Rush Patriots FC team, Judd captured the 2012 N.Y. State Championship after a 2011 East Coast Regional semi-final appearance.


Madeline Linde

Hometown: Weston, Mass.

High School: Weston High School – Weston, Mass.

Club Team: MPS Renegades

A versatile midfielder , Linde is a four-year letterwinner and three-time All-County all star selection in 2010, 2011 and 2012. Through four varsity seasons Linde has tallied 56 goals and 61 assists and is a two-time All-State selection. She is a two-time Massachusetts State Champion including 2010 and 2012.


Allison Spencer

Hometown: Salt Lake City, Utah

High School: Skyline High School – Salt Lake City, Utah

Club Team: Utah Avalanche

This four-year soccer letterwinner is a two-time All-State first team honoree in back to back seasons in 2011 and 2012. The two-time All-Region first team goalkeeper tallied 22 career shutouts at Skyline High School and earned 2011 All-Region Goalkeeper MVP as well. She anchored the Skyline defense that saw a Utah State Championship appearance in 2011 and a semifinals appearance in 2010 and 2012.

Born in Calgary, Alberta, Spencer was a member and captain of the Utah Avalanche Club team that ranked in the nation's top 12 in 2013. She was a participant at the US Soccer ID2 National Camp, the Canadian U17 Camp and in the ECNL Player Development Program Camp.


Grace Taylor

Hometown: Glen Rock, N.J.

High School: Glen Rock High School – Glen Rock, N.J.

Club Team: World Class Football Club

With a career tally of 46 goals and 29 assists over four high school seasons, Taylor is four-year letterwinner and a four-time All-League first team selection. She helped lead the team a 2012 New Jersey State Championship victory to cap her career as a Glen Rock Panther.
