QUECHEE, Vt.Joshua Suh led the Columbia men’s golf team with a fifth place individual finish as the Lions concluded the two-day, two-round Quechee Club Collegiate in fifth place with a combined 597 score Sunday at the Quechee Club.

Suh completed the two-round invitational with a combined 144 score (even) as he shot a 70 on Saturday and 74 on Sunday. Suh was followed by Columbia’s Jeremy Perna, who was competing as an individual and finished in 24th place (76-74-150). Nick Brisbois finished in 32nd place (78-73-151), Mert Selamet in 36th place (74-78-152), Arjuna Anday in 39th (70-83-153) and Christopher Chu in 74th (83-80-163).

Rhode Island won the 15-team competition with a combined 578 score (plus 2), followed by Harvard with a 580 (plus 4), Cornell at 588 (plus 12) and Penn at 591 (plus 15) and then Columbia at 597.

The Quechee Club Lakeland course is a par 72, 6,671-yard course.

Four Columbia men’s golfers traveled to Lorton, Va. to compete in the Patriot Intercollegiate as individuals. The event runs Sunday and Monday at Laurel Hill Golf Course. Tharusyan Pillay led the Lions with a 74 (plus 3), while J. Christian Fitzgerald and Curtis Chan both shot a 75 (plus 4) and are currently in 47th place. Sunny Yan shot a 77 (plus 6) to finish the first round in 76th place and Cullen Chung shot an 81 (plus 10) for 104th place. The second round begins on Monday.

The event marks Columbia’s second fall tournament. Two fall tournaments remain on the Lions’ schedule: the Nick Watney Invitational (Oct. 3-4) in Rancho San Joaquin Golf Course in Irvine, Calif. and the Dayton Invitational (Oct. 17-18) at NCR Country Club in Kettering, Ohio.
