NEW YORK — Columbia junior Anja Malesevic was named Ivy League Volleyball Player of the Week on Monday, as announced by the league office.

Malesevic led Columbia in kills (31), kills per set (4.43), aces (7), aces per set (1.00), total points (40.0) and points per set (5.7) last week, which played a large part in the Lions going 2-0 with victories over Dartmouth and Harvard. The junior right-side hitter tied her career-high with 16 kills in Friday’s sweep of the Big Green, hitting .483 with nine digs, two aces and a block. On Saturday, she had 15 kills against Harvard, adding three blocks and a career-high five aces, including an ace to clinch the match in four sets.

Malesevic’s 40.0 total points led all Ivy League players last week. The Belgrade, Serbia native ranks among the conference’s top 10 in six statistical categories this season, which includes kills (205), kills per set (2.77), aces (23), aces per set (0.31), total points (247.5) and points per set (3.3). All of those marks lead Columbia.

The Player-of-the-Week honors are the first of Malesevic’s career. She joins senior libero Cassie Wes (Oct. 3) and sophomore outside hitter Luciana Del Valle (Sep. 19) as the three Lions to win the award this season.

Additionally, senior Zoe Jacobs and first-year Grace Campbell were named to the Ivy League weekly honor roll. Jacobs, an outside hitter, tallied a career-high 21 kills while hitting .381 in Saturday’s victory against Harvard, which was also Jacobs’ Senior Night. Campbell, a setter, registered 97 assists through both matches, averaging 13.86 assists per set. The rookie also totaled 16 digs, including 10 on Saturday to earn her team-leading sixth double-double of the season.

The Columbia volleyball team (13-9, 8-4 Ivy) wraps up the 2016 campaign on the road this Friday and Saturday, when it takes on Penn and Princeton. The Lions visit the Quakers (5-7 Ivy) Friday at 7 p.m., followed by the season finale on Saturday at 7 p.m. against the first-place Tigers (11-1 Ivy).
