LAS VEGAS - Garrett Ryan and Tyrel White dropped their opening Day Two matches on Saturday at the Cliff Keen Invitational in Las Vegas.

In the 165 pound consolation bracket, White was matched up with Ohio State's Cody Burcher. After a scoreless first period, White was unable to escape Burcher's top position in the second, as the Buckeye racked up two minutes of riding time. Neither wrestler was able to complete a shot for two points in the third, as Burcher moved on with a 1-0 win on riding time advantage.

White was successful in day one, advancing to the quarterfinal match after wins over Bucknell's Logan Kernin and Air Force's Alex Lopouchanski.

Ryan was matched with Stanford's Nathan Butler, the fifth seed in the heavyweight bracket. Neither wrestler was able to score in the first, but Ryan escaped Butler's top position in the second to take a 1-0 lead. The No. 10 ranked Cardinal heavyweight matched Ryan's escape with one of his own in the third, before a scramble led to a Butler takedown in the period. Butler ended up winning the match, 4-1, adding a point for riding time.

On the first day of competition, Ryan dropped his opening match to top-seeded Connor Medberry from Wisconsin, before rattling off pins against Brandon Ngati from West Virginia and Cal-Bakersfield's Alex Encarnarcion-Strand. Ryan advanced to the second day with a win in the evening session against Purdue's Tyler Kral

Aside from White and Ryan, junior Dan Reed picked up a pair of wins on Day One, while Alec Kelly and Jacob Macalolooy were both victorious once each.

Up next, Columbia will head to Drexel for a 6 p.m. dual on Saturday, Dec. 10.
