DALLAS - The No. 24 ranked Columbia men's tennis team rolled to a 4-1 victory today against No. 33 SMU, in the first of three matches this week in Texas.

With the win, the Lions improve to 9-2 on the season, before a match tomorrow with UT-Arlington, before heading to No. 8 Texas on Friday.

The doubles point went to Columbia, with Christopher Grant and Michal Rolski getting the Lions on the board with a 6-3 win in the No. 2 match against Markus Kerner and Arkadijs Slobodkins.

Playing together for the first time this season, Shawn Hadavi and Adam Ambrozy clinched the point, beating Tony Russell and Ronald Slobodchikov, 6-3. At the time of the victory, No. 20 Richard Pham and Victor Pham led SMU's No. 18 ranked team of Hunter Johnson and Yates Johnson, 5-3.

The Mustangs tied the match when Yates Johnson posted a 6-2, 6-3 win in the No. 6 match over Timothy Wang, before the Lions rattled off three straight victories.

Columbia led 2-1 when Alex Keyser cruised to a 6-2, 6-2 conquest against Kerner at the No. 4 match. The No. 5 singles match went to the Lions, with William Matheson taking it to Russell, 7-5, 6-4, before No. 91 Victor Pham got by No. 56 Hunter Johnson, 7-6 (6-4), 6-3.
