GRASONVILLE, Md.—First-year Cullen Chung led 10 Columbia men’s golfers by finishing in eighth place in the individual competition with a two-day 146 at the 36-hole Towson Invitational Sunday.

Chung led the Columbia B Team to a seventh place finish in the 22-team invite with a 300-303-603 (+27), while the Columbia’s A team ended the competition in 13th place with a 301-314-615 (+39). Towson Invitational results can be found at this link at www.BirdieFire.com.

Chung finished the tournament with a 72-74-146 (+2). On Sunday, he carded four birdies to finish with a 74 and on Saturday, Chung shot a career-low 72 as fired five birdies.

Senior Arjuna Anday registered the Lions’ second-best performance of the weekend as he finished in 18th place with a 72-77-149 (+5). On Sunday, Anday shot par on 11 holes and registered two birdies. In shooting a 72 (Even) on Saturday, Anday played efficient golf by holing two birdies and finishing with 14 pars on the day.

Senior Mert Selamet and senior Christopher Chu both finished in 34th place at 152. Selamet made the largest jump in the standings as he fired a team-low 74 on Sunday after finishing at 78 on Saturday. Selamet hit three birdies on Sunday and would've placed in the top-25 before finishing with a double bogey on the 18th hole. Chu, who finished with two birdies on Sunday, carded a 75-77-152 (+8).

Elon won the team title with a 288-299-587 (+11), edging host Towson (289-299-588, +12) by one stroke. Bethune-Cookman’s Daniel Brennan won the individual title with a 69-73-142 (-2).

Columbia had 10 players and two of the 22 teams competing in the invitational. Teams in the field include Bethune-Cookman, Bryant, Cornell, Elon, Fairfield, Fairleigh Dickinson, Indiana, Pa., Lafayette, La Salle, LIU-Brooklyn, Maryland Eastern Shore, Penn, Robert Morris, Sacred Heart, Seton Hall, Saint Anselm, Stevenson, Trinity College, Towson and William & Mary.

The Prospect Bay Country Club has a par of 72 with a course length of 6,530 yards.
