NEW YORK – The Columbia lacrosse team faced its biggest challenge this season in its home finale on Saturday, April 15 as they took on No. 9 Penn (10-2, 3-1 Ivy). Five different players found the back of the net for the Lions, but the Quakers used a 10-goal second half to power a 17-7 win over Columbia.
Quinn led the Columbia offense with three points on a pair of goals and an assist, along with a team-high four draw controls. She was joined by Victoria Kalamaras with two goals and an assist.
Lindsey Ewertsen notched the Lions' game-opening goal at 24:44 and assisted Quinn’s second goal of the afternoon to go along with a game-high two caused turnovers. Sara Ruzzi also added two points with a goal and an assist on the day, while Laine Parsons tallied her 14th free-position goal of the year.
In goal, Kelsey Gedin collected nine saves in under 52 minutes play and Abbey Roberts made three saves as she saw her first action in goal this season against the Quakers in eight minutes of play.
Up next, the Lions (7-6, 2-2 Ivy) will hit the road to take Brown on Saturday, April 22 at 12 p.m.
