D-I Regional Award Winners

TEMPE, Ariz. - After recently wrapping up an impressive career, Columbia senior Shawn Hadavi earned a pair of regional awards from the ITA, announced this week. 

Hadavi was named the ITA Senior Player of the Year from the Northeast Region, and went on to earn the Arthur Ashe Leadership and Sportsmanship Award. The Arthur Ashe award is selected to junior or senior student-athletes, and is evaluated on singles and doubles performance, sportsmanship, leadership, character, scholastic achievements and extracurricular achievements and honors.

The Dobbs Ferry, New York, native had his career come to a close last week in the NCAA Tournament. Hadavi was the 2016 Ivy League Player of the Year, a first-team All-Ivy singles and doubles selection for the second straight season in 2017, and earned the Maniatty Award at the Columbia Varsity C Celebration, as the most distinguished student-athlete over a four-year career.
