PHILADELPHIA, Pa.—First-year Christie Wan and senior Adi Milstein advanced to the semifinals with four consecutive wins and first-year Jennifer Kerr won two matches this past week at the ITA Northeast Regionals held at the University of Pennsylvania.


With their performance, Wan and Milstein are awaiting to hear if they will receive an at-large bid to the ITA Fall Nationals as they are being considered for an at-large bid. Wan and Milstein defeated several impressive teams on their road to the semifinals including an 8-6 win over a duo from Boston College, along with an 8-5 win over Jessica Livianu and her partner from St. John’s. Livianu was a Riviera/ITA Women’s All-American Championships quarterfinalist and the 2016 ITA Regional singles champion. She is currently ranked No. 25 in the ITA national singles rankings. Dartmouth’s Chiu and Schroeder handed Wan and Milstein a 3-6, 6-4, 10-4 loss.


Kerr registered an impressive 3-6, 6-3, 6-1 win against Syracuse’s Anna Shkudun, who won the event two years ago and had a career-high WTA singles ranking of No. 359. She won two matches before dropping a 6-2, 6-2 match to Princeton’s S. Schrage, the eventual champion.


Four Columbia players competed in the event including sophomore Ali Pollack. Pollack and Kerr teamed in the doubles competition.


Columbia women’s tennis has two more fall competition dates.
