FORT WORTH, Texas - In the final outing of a spring break trip in Texas, No. 9 ranked Columbia fell to No. 32 TCU, 4-0, at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.

With the loss, the Lions drop to 10-3 this spring, having gone 2-2 in Texas, while the Horned Frogs improve to 10-2, having defeated its third-straight ranked opponent.

The Lions were without its top singles and doubles player today in Victor Pham, who injury defaulted last time out in a 4-1 win over UT-Arlington. With that, all the Columbia singles and doubles matches were bumped up a slot.

In doubles play, Adam Ambrozy and Michal Rolski, who have played No. 2 doubles all season, were the first to drop a match, falling to Trevor Johnson and Alastair Gray, 6-3. The point was sealed for TCU when No. 41 Alex Rybakov and Guillermo Nunez got by Jackie Tang and William Matheson, 6-4.

The Horned Frogs went up 2-0 with a win at the No. 4 singles slot behind Nunez, who is unranked in the ITA poll, but has a career-high ITF ranking of No. 674 in singles, and No. 704 in doubles. Nunez topped Austen Huang today, 6-1, 6-0.

The next match to finish was the No. 2 singles match, when Johnson, the No. 72 ranked player in the ITA, defeated Jack Lin, 6-2, 6-2. TCU clinched the match with a win in the top match, as No. 38 Tang fell to No. 32 Rybakov, 6-2, 6-3. At the time of the defeat, Timothy Wang and Adam Ambrozy had both stolen the first set in their singles matches, while Alex Keyser was up 6-5 in the second set after dropping the first.

Columbia is back in action on Friday, March 30, when Buffalo visits the Dick Savitt Tennis Center for a 2 p.m. match. After the bout with the Bulls, the Lions open Ivy League play with a trip to Penn on April 6.
