WILMINGTON, N.C.—Five members of the Columbia men’s golf team completed the final round Monday at the Seahawk Intercollegiate held at the Country Club of Landfall Nicklaus Golf Course.
For the second consecutive invitational, Columbia was led by first-year Arjun Puri, who finished in 46th place with a 15-over-par 78-77-76-231. On Monday, Puri completed the final round with 14 pars. On Sunday, Puri carded six birdies in the first two rounds, including
three on the second round’s back nine.
First-year John Robertson placed 73rd overall with a 29-over-par 80-80-85-245. He totaled six birdies in the competition including two on Monday. It was Robertson’s first invitational representing Columbia.
Rounding out the scoring for Columbia were junior Sunny Yan, who finished in 75th place with a 34-over-par 87-83-80-250, senior Joshua Suh, who placed 75th with a 34-over-par 80-89-84-253 and sophomore Nick Brisebois, who concluded the invite in 77th place with a 37-over-par 89-74-90-253. Brisebois’ 74 was Columbia’s low round on the weekend. In shooting a 74, he put together three birdies and 10 pars.
Columbia ended the two-day invitational in 14th place plus-100 (325-314-325-964).
Host UNC-Wilmington won the team title after shooting a two-under-par 289-279-294-862, while UNC-W’s Blake McShea maintained first-place in the individual competition at four-under-par 68-72-72-212.
Fourteen teams competed in the including Columbia, Army West Point, Boston College, Campbell, Davidson, Elon, George Mason, Miami, Ohio, Richmond, Michigan State, Rutgers, Toledo, VCU and host UNC-Wilmington.
