LEONIA, N.J. - The No. 3 Columbia lightweight varsity eight came away with its second consecutive victory Saturday morning, topping Navy by about four seats to reclaim the WIT Cup. The Lions will make their way to race Harvard and Georgetown Sunday, April 8, at 8 a.m. The regatta can be seen live on the Ivy League Network.

Columbia's second varsity also came up on top in another highly competitive race. The Midshipmen claimed the third and fourth varsity eight events with decisive wins.

In the varsity eight, both teams got off to clean starts and the Lions were able to gain a little separation in the second 500. Navy made a push at the halfway point and from there each team traded bursts of speed, but Columbia never relinquished the lead to earn the hardware.
