NEW YORK—Columbia University’s Patricia and Shepard Alexander Head Coach of Football Al Bagnoli announced Tuesday afternoon that Alex Voulgaris has officially rejoined the Columbia Football staff as Director of Social Media/Assistant Director of Player Personnel.

 

Voulgaris rejoins the Columbia Football staff after having worked the 2015 season as the Lions’ Video Coordinator and Assistant Technical Officer.

 

Voulgaris spent the past two years at Army West Point (2016-17) as the football program’s Director of Video Operations, where he managed the video crew, oversaw all technical services for the program including break down of game and practice film and organized film exchange. He managed a crew of cadet managers throughout the season and oversaw all technical services for the team including the breaking down of game and practice film and film exchange. He also managed the most remote cameras in the nation with 13 total.

 

In 2016, he was responsible for maintaining, operating and servicing Army’s video camera command center in Kimsey Athletic Center. He created a weekly “hype” video, as well as mentored the Cadet video managers throughout the season. Voulgaris was in charge of managing all video operations during the Heart of Dallas Bowl and created specific cut-ups and edits upon requests from his coaching staff.

 

During his two years at West Point, the Cadets defeated Navy two times (2016 and 2017) and won back-to-back bowl games including the Heart of Dallas Bowl in 2017 and Armed Forces Bowl in 2018.

 

Voulgaris also has NFL video operations experience as he served as a video assistant with the New York Jets from 2013-15. During his tenure with the Jets, he filmed all practices and all home and away games for the Jets and worked closely with the coaches and players providing assistance and consultation for any video needs.

 

Voulgaris also has experience as a Vice President for CSTV at SUNY Cortland, where he oversaw all technical operations in the studio, produced shows and segments, managed social media platforms, recruited workers and managed the studio budget.

 

Born and raised in New York City, he is a 2013 graduate of SUNY Cortland with a bachelor’s degree in communications and concentration in media and video production.
