A standout student-athlete for four years at Columbia, Tommy McMenemy begins his fourth year as top assistant coach for the Lions. McMenemy was promoted in February 2008 to full-time assistant men’s soccer coach at his alma mater after spending the 2006 and 2007 seasons as a volunteer assistant.
McMenemy was Columbia's most recent All-American, earning the honor as a senior in 2003. A two-time all-region selection, McMenemy was an All-Ivy League selection three times from 2000-03, including consecutive unanimous first team All-Ivy League nods in 2002 and 2003.
Also a three-time Academic All-Ivy League choice, McMenemy is the head coach of Landsdowne United, an amateur men's team in the top division of New York's premier semi-professional league, the Cosmopolitan League.
Since his first year as a student at Columbia, McMenemy has been involved with the NYC Soccer Academy, headed by women's head coach Kevin McCarthy, coaching full-day sessions for boys and girls at the Baker Field Athletics Complex.
McMenemy, who hails from Southampton, England and lives on Manhattan's West Side, is a 2004 Columbia graduate with a degree in American history.
