Columbia University Cheerleaders have been a staple of Columbia Spirit for several decades. This co-gender team assists in the preservation of Columbia's rich traditions with cheering, dancing, and stunting. They perform at all home football and men and women's Basketball contests as well as other events on campus. The Columbia University Cheerleaders also perform at community service events.

Tryouts are open to all students of Columbia University, including graduate students.

Tryout elements:

Required elements include jumps, cheers, fight song performance, and stunting. Women may also be asked to perform a short cheer style dance routine. Men must demonstrate sufficient strength for partner stunts.

Tumbling is not an absolute requirement, but is strongly preferred. We recommend preparing at least a back handspring with light spot.
