After a strong sophomore campaign, rising-junior Sarah Chai recently competed at the California State Championships and picked up right where she left off at the end of the season.

Chai won the female collegiate recurve division at the 2010 California State Outdoor Championships.  The tournament, which was hosted by the U.J.S.C.A, took place June on 19-20.

The Irvine, Calif. native dominated her division, shooting 276-287-276-317 for a combined total of 1156.  Her nearest competitor was Hannah Motegi who shot a 920, while Alexandra Kabbaz Szabo ranked third with a 746.

"I'm happy to see Sarah competing well over the summer," said head coach Derek Davis.  "It shows her passion and dedication to the sport."

Chai will compete again in late-July at the U.S. Outdoor Target Championship in Hamilton, Ohio, along with former Columbia All-Americans Sara Goshorn '10CC and Stephanie Miller '07CC.
