LYNN, Mass. – Columbia's Dario Pizzano was named the New England Collegiate Baseball League Player of the Week, the league office announced.

In his first two games, Pizzano had yet to make an out, reaching base via a base hit, walk or hit by pitch in his first seven plate appearances.

He singled and walked in North Shore's 2-1 rain-shortened loss to Holyoke on Opening Night, and followed it up by slamming two doubles and three RBI in North Shore's 12-1 win against Newport two nights later.

Through his first four games, Pizzano is batting .545 while carrying an on-base percentage of .688.
