NEW YORK - The Columbia volleyball program and head coach Jon Wilson released the Columbia volleyball schedule for the 2012 season. The Lions will have 23 regular-season games, including three tournaments and some of the best teams in the country. 

Columbia opens with three matches at the Courtyard by Marriott/University of Central Florida Classic, which will take place in Orlando, Fla. over Labor Day weekend. The Lions will take on host UCF, Liberty and Jacksonville in the two-day event. 

Two more tournaments await the team upon their return to the Northeast, including the University of Delaware Invitational, which will see the three toughest teams for the Lions. Columbia will take on Delaware, Xavier and Texas A&M over two days in Newark. The Lions will then return home to Levien Gymnasium, to host Colgate, Rhode Island and Hofstra in the third annual Columbia Invitational in September. 

Columbia kicks off Ivy League play Saturday, September 22 in Ithaca, N.Y., as the Lions will take on Cornell in a 2 p.m. matchup. They will also host the Big Red for Homecoming Weekend, Friday, October 19 at 7 p.m. 

The regular season wraps up with two important Ivy League matches at home, as the Lions will host Penn and Princeton, Friday, November 9 and Saturday, Novemeber 10. The Saturday match will take place at 5 p.m., and the Lions will use the match to honor the Class of 2013, as they play their final regular season match in Levien Gymnasium.
