NEW YORK - From Monday, June 25 - Monday, July 2, hundreds of the nation's best swimmers will compete in Omaha Neb. at the Olympic Trials for a spot on the U.S. Olympic Swimming Team. The Columbia men's swimming team will be represented well by four swimmers including, Adam Powell ('11CC), John Wright ('13CC), Jeremie DeZwirek ('15SEAS), and incoming swimmer Kevin Quinn.

DeZwirek will look to earn a spot in the 200 back where he currently holds a #42 seed with a time of 2:03.13. The rising sophomore put together a tremendous first-year at Columbia winning the Ivy League title in the event. The 200 back prelims begin on Friday, June 29. On the following day, two-time mid-major All-American Wright will represent the Lions in the 50 free on Saturday, June 30.

Columbia's all-time record holder in the 50 and 100 free, Powell, will compete in both events at the 2012 Trials. The two-time Ivy League Champion begins with the 100 Free on Thursday, June 28 as the 53rd seed with a time of 50.55.  He will return on Saturday, June 30 to earn a spot in the 50 free. With a time of 22.69, Powell holds the 18th seed and looks to make a strong push for a top finish.

Also competing is Columbia newcomer Kevin Quinn in the 200 Fly. The Evanston, Ill. native will join the Lions this upcoming season after beginning his collegiate career at Cal Berkley.  The 200 fly prelims are set to begin on Wednesday, June 27.
