Ott Named Women's Basketball Ivy League Rookie of the Week
PRINCETON, N.J. - Columbia women's basketball first-year Bailey Ott was selected as the Ivy League Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday.
Ott (Pompton Lakes, N.J.) stepped it up in a big way to help lift Columbia to its first win of the season against Fairleigh Dickinson on Sunday. The 5-11 forward/center scored a game-high 20 points on 10-of-15 shooting from the field while grabbing eight rebounds in the 54-47 victory.
"It is really a tribute to someone who puts in so much extra time to be rewarded for her hard work," said Columbia women's basketball head coach Paul Nixon. "Bailey Ott was the key to our first victory of the season and we are thrilled about her continuing to play well for us."
Earlier last week, Ott finished one point and one rebound shy of her first career double-double as she recorded nine points and nine boards in a 61-47 loss to Wagner.
Ott and the Lions (1-3) will look to roll at Morgan State on Friday, November 23 for a 2 p.m. contest.
