NEW YORK - The No. 10 Columbia men's squash team will wrap up its eight-match road swing with trips to Cambridge, Mass. and Hanover, N.H. this weekend to take on No. 3 Harvard and No. 8 Dartmouth. Columbia will begin the trip Saturday, Feb. 2 at the Crimson before visiting the Big Green Sunday, Feb. 3. Both matches will begin at 12 p.m.
The Lions are winners of three of their last four matches, having taken down No. 18 Bowdoin, No. 17 George Washington and No. 16 Middlebury in the last two weeks. Last weekend, Columbia opened the weekend with a 5-4 defeat of the Panthers before losing a tough 6-3 match to No. 11 Williams.
Ramit Tandon continues to pace the Lions with a 10-1 record, with all ten of those wins coming via three-game sweep. Mohamed AbdelMaksoud and Graham Miao are second on the team with seven wins apiece. AbdelMaksoud has played as the No. 2 and 3, while Maio has seen action at the No. 3, 4 and 6 spots.
The Crimson hold a 10-1 overall mark, 2-1 in Ivy League play. Harvard's lone blemish came on the road at No. 1 Princeton, a 5-4 loss on Jan. 13. The Crimson have since downed No. 13 Western Ontario, 8-1, and No. 22 Amherst, 9-0.
Ali Farag, last year's CSA national champion and one of only two people to defeat Tandon in the last 12 months, has a 6-0 record as Harvard's No. 1 this season. The Crimson are 11-0 in the No. 1, 6 and 8 spots on the ladder this season.
The Big Green fell to an even .500 (5-5) with a loss at No. 5 Rochester on Jan. 27. Dartmouth will play host to No. 6 Cornell Saturday before welcoming Columbia to Hanover Sunday.
Chris Hanson has held down the top spot for Dartmouth the entire season. Hanson, the 10th-ranked player in the nation, is 7-3 during the 2012-13 campaign.
