NEMO STORM UPDATE - Women's Swimming Will Compete at 2 p.m.

NEW YORK - In its final meet at Uris pool this season, the Columbia women's swimming and diving team will honor the Class of 2013 when they host Princeton on Friday, Feb. 8 at 2 p.m. On Sunday, Feb. 10 at 11 a.m. the Lions will cap the regular season on the road at Ivy League foe Dartmouth.

Columbia is 4-2 overall this season and 3-2 in the Ivy League entering Friday's matchup with the Tigers.  After defeating Brown 182-108, in the team's last outing, Columbia has won four straight dual-meets and has climbed to fourth place in the Ivy League standings.

Friday is a Student Rewards event.  Students can swipe their CUID's at the entrance and earn points towards great prizes!

In the teams' meeting last season, the Lions posted a historic win on Friday, Feb. 10, when they defeated Princeton for the first time in program history, 173-127.

Columbia will honor its senior class prior to the first event of the meet, which includes: Lacey Harris-Coble, Kristin Hehir, Caroline Lukins, Katie Meili and Kristina Parsons.

-Won the 50 freestyle versus Cornell

-Scored points at the 2010 Ivies in the 100 back and 200 free relay

-Scored in five events at the 2011 Ivies, the 200 free relay (6th), 800 free relay (6th), 100 back (13th), 200 fly (17th), and 100 fly (21st)

-At the 2012 Ivies scored in the 100 back (20th).

Kristin Hehir

 

-Came in 16th in the 3-meter in the 2012 Ivies

Caroline Lukins


-2010 season: won the 100 fly against Penn, won the 200 fly against Penn, Cornell, and Bucknell

-2010 Ivies: Won the B final of the 200 butterfly, coming in 9th overall, also scored in the 100 fly.

-2011 Ivies: 400 medley relay (5th), 200 medley relay (6th), 100 backstroke (9th), 200 fly (10th)

-2012 Ivies: 200 medley relay (6th), 100 fly (5th), 200 fly (9th)

-2012-13: Cornell pool record in the 200 fly, pool record in the 200 fly vs. Brown,

-2010 Ivies: 100 breast (2nd), 200 breast (4th), 50 free (5th), also scored points in the 200 and 400 medley and free relays

-2011 Ivies: Mid-Major All-American, First-Team All-Ivy, Academic All-Ivy, 200 IM (1st), 400 medley relay (5th), 200 free relay (6th), 400 free relay (6th), 800 free relay (6th), 400 IM (9th)

-2012 Ivies: Ivy League Championship Most Outstanding Swimmer, 5-time First Team All-Ivy, 5 titles - 200 IM, 100 breast, 200 breast, 200 free relay, 400 medley relay, 5th at NCAAs in the 100 breast (First Team All-American), 13th in the 200 IM (HM All-American), Columbia came in 25th at NCAAs solely based on Meili's swims.

-2012-13: Set the 800 free relay pool record against Bucknell, Cornell pool record in the 100 breast, 200 medley relay and 200 free pool records vs. Brown, Rutgers pool records in the 100 and 200 breast

Scouting the Tigers

Princeton currently sits in second place in the Ivy League with a 5-1 record. The teams only loss on the year came in its last outing at the annual tri-meet with Harvard and Yale last weekend. Harvard defeated the Tigers, 199-99, in a meet where all three teams entered the meet undefeated on the season.

Scouting the Big Green

Dartmouth has won its last two dual-meets, which included non-conference opponents New Hampshire and Connecticut, and will finish Ivy League competition on Sunday as they welcome Columbia. The Big Green are 4-5 overall on the season and 1-5 in the Ivy League.
