Lacrosse Travels to Vermont For Weekend Matchup

NEW YORK - The Columbia women's lacrosse team will begin a two-game road swing on Saturday, March 15 at 11:30 a.m., when the team heads to Burlington, Vt. to play Vermont. The Lions will matchup against the Catamounts for the second straight season after competing for the first time since 2006 at Robert K. Kraft field in the 2012 season.

Kacie Johnson posted a hat trick and two assists to lead the Columbia lacrosse team despite a 16-7 loss to Villanova on Wednesday, March 13. After being held to two goals in the first half, the Lions found their offense late with five scores in the second half. The Lions saw offense from Katie Angulo, who scored two goals, and both Sarah Greenberg and Kate Murphy each added a score.

Johnson has 203 career points to date, becoming the first Columbia player to reach the 200-point mark. With seven points on Saturday, Feb. 23 in a win over Mount St. Mary's, Kacie Johnson surpassed Holly Glynn's ('09CC) mark of 186 points to become the all-time points leader in program history.

Vermont posts a 3-4 record on the year with only one home win to date. The Catamounts dropped a 16-5 contest to Massachusetts in the teams' last outing for its second straight loss.  Jessica Roach leads Vermont with 27 points, including 15 goals and 12 assists.
