NEW YORK - For the fifth straight week, the Columbia men and women’s track and field team will return to the New York Armory for more competition. On Friday, Feb. 14 the Lions will take their marks in the Lafayette/Rider Winter Games. On Saturday, Feb. 15, a few Columbia representatives will get their chance to race in the prestigious NYRR Millrose Games.
The Lafayette/Rider Invitational is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. with the women's field events and the 60-meter hurdles will start the track events at 5:30 p.m. The last event will be the 4x400-meter relays at 9:40 p.m.

John Gregorek will run in The Millrose Games' premier event on Saturday, the NYRR Wanamaker Mile, which will feature some of the best professional and collegiate runners in the nation. The senior will attempt to break four minutes for the first time after running a 4:01 at The Armory in the Lions Invitational. Gregorek, son of the 1984 Olympic Games steeplechaser Johnny Gregorek, was added to a field of elite runners that include 2012 Olympic medalists Nick Willis and Leo Manzano.
Highlighted by the Wannamaker Mile, The Millrose Games will be televised by the NBC Sports Network from 3-5 p.m.
A few of the Lions to top runners will travel to the Iowa State Classic this weekend from Feb.14-15. The field will be made up of teams from 16 conferences across the country, including (Big 12, Big Ten, SEC, ACC, Ivy League, Mountain West, Big East, ECAC, Sun Belt, American, Southern, Big Sky, Missouri Valley, WAC, Summit League and Ohio Valley), highlighted by seven teams ranked in the United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) top-25.
