Todd Gilcrist was added to the Columbia staff in March 2015 to coach the running backs, and enters the 2017 season as Columbia's wide receivers coach. Gilcrist comes to Columbia after spending the 2014 season at Carnegie Mellon as the wide receivers coach, while also overseeing video editing and recruiting.
The 2015 season saw a resurgence in the run game, with senior Cameron Molina earning first team All-Ivy League honors. Gilcrist coached up the running back who ran for 805 yards on the season, leading the conference in rushing yards during Ivy League play.
Prior to his arrival at Carnegie Mellon, Gilcrist coached at Thiel College as the wide receiver and assistant strength and conditioning coach for one year. The Thiel receiving corps saw a spike in offensive production, posting 1,455 yards receiving and 14 touchdowns in a heavy run offense. The 14 touchdowns were the most since the 2008-2009 season.
During the 2012 season, he coached at Maine Maritime Academy, working primarily with the defensive backs and returners.
Gilcrist is a 2012 graduate from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Arts degree in media and professional communications. Gilcrist was a three-year member of the Panther football team after transferring from Duquesne. Gilcrist was a contributor on special teams and played both safety and wide receiver during his time with the Panthers.
