Ed Nickoloff was named the Assistant Director of Athletic Events at Columbia in December 2015 after spending the past year as an event coordinator with the Miami Heat.
Prior to coming to Columbia, Nickoloff served as the primary contact and coordinator for Miami Heat games heading into the 2015-16 season and was in charge of setting up the 2015 NBA Draft Party and Basketball Operations War Room. During his time in Miami, Nickoloff also served as the dressing room coordinator for Billy Joel and Elton John and the Meet and Greet/VIP Coordinator for Usher, Fleetwood Mac and The Who.
In the summer of 2014, Nickoloff worked as the operations coordinator for the Women’s Tennis Association where he temporarily filled in for the Manager of Operations and Player Relations, setting up the travel and logistical operations for worldwide meetings and ceremonies while also stepping in to help with on-site logistics for meetings at the U.S. Open.
Before working with the Women’s Tennis Association, Nickoloff also served as a lighting vision production assistant and game presentation resident for the Tampa Bay Lightning from 2013-14.
Nickoloff has served as an intern with the Richmond Flying Squirrels, a AA Minor League affiliate for the San Francisco Giants, in the summer of 2011.
In college, Nickoloff was a member of the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Ice Hockey team where he was named an American Collegiate Hockey Association Men’s Division III Academic All-American in 2010 before graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management in December 2011.
In May 2014, Nickoloff earned both a Master of Business Administration and Master of Science in Sport and Entertainment Management from the University of South Florida where he also was a member of the USF Roller Hockey Team.
