Spicer joins the Lions after recently graduating with a joint Bachelors and Master of Science degree in athletic training from LIU Brooklyn in May 2015.
Before coming to Columbia, Spicer has worked as a student worker and intern at Sacred Heart University (2015), Manhattan College (2015), St. Francis Brooklyn (2014) and LIU Brooklyn (2012-14) where she has assisted with the athletic training needs for such teams as volleyball, track and field, men’s lacrosse, men’s soccer, men’s basketball and women’s basketball.
Along with her time working at the collegiate level, Spicer has also spent time working as a senior counselor with InSports, a sports camp for children ages four through 12, where she helped provide coaching and training of various sports skills to camp participants.
While attending LIU Brooklyn, Spicer spent five years as a member of the women’s soccer team after missing the 2012 season due to injury and served as team captain in her final two seasons. During her time with the Blackbirds, Spicer was named to the Northeast Conference Fall Honor Roll in all five years on the team, was a SAAC team representative from 2010-2013, was named to the “Who’s Who Among Students” in 2013 and got inducted into Alpha Chi in 2013.
