Carly Nevis joined the Columbia University Athletics Communications staff as Multimedia specialist and Communications Assistant in January 2017. She is the primary contact for Columbia's men's and women's fencing, men's and women's squash and cross country programs.
In her first season with Columbia Athletics, Nevis produced over 100 videos for GoColumbiaLions and the Lions' social media network, touching on every single varsity sport at some point throughout the season. In addition to her role with Columbia Athletics, Carly also serves as the primary Columbia reporter for the Ivy League Network. She also filled in as play-by-play broadcaster and analyst during a handful of Columbia Women's Lacrosse games in 2017.
Nevis graduated magna cum laude from the Newhouse School at Syracuse University in May 2016, where she studied broadcast and digital journalism with a focus in sports. While at Syracuse, Carly worked for both the campus television and radio station, covering Orange sports ranging from basketball and football to women's volleyball and lacrosse. She became the first-ever female to host the Double Overtime, a post-game show about Syracuse basketball and football, for the Syracuse radio station, WAER.
Born and raised in Forest Hills, New York, Nevis is a proud Queens native.
