Ed Nickoloff was named the Assistant Director of Athletic Events at Columbia in December 2015 after spending a year as an event coordinator with the Miami Heat. Nickoloff is currently, working on a Master of Science in Nonprofit Management at Columbia while also playing on the Columbia club ice hockey team.
Prior to Columbia, Nickoloff served as the primary coordinator for Miami Heat games. During his time in Miami, Nickoloff also coordinated concerts, shows, and smaller events at the AmericanAirlines Arena.
In the summer of 2014, Nickoloff worked as the operations coordinator for the Women’s Tennis Association where he temporarily filled in for the Manager of Operations and Player Relations. His duties included setting up travel and logistical operations for worldwide meetings and ceremonies while also assisting with on-site logistics and meetings at the U.S. Open.
Before working with the Women’s Tennis Association, Nickoloff served as a lighting vision production assistant and game presentation resident for the Tampa Bay Lightning from 2013-14. In addition, Nickoloff served as an intern with the Richmond Flying Squirrels during the summer of 2011, the AA Minor League affiliate for the San Francisco Giants.
In May 2014, Nickoloff earned both a Master of Business Administration and Master of Science degree in Sport and Entertainment Management from the University of South Florida where he also was a member of the USF club roller hockey team.
In college, Nickoloff was a member of the Virginia Commonwealth University club ice hockey team where he was named an American Collegiate Hockey Association Men’s Division III Academic All-American in 2010 before graduating with a bachelor of science degree in Business Administration and Management in December 2011.
