ABOUT THE LIONS: Columbia returns a highily-anticipated group from last year's 8-2 dual-meet record squad. The Lions were 4-0 at home last season and placed third in the Ivy Legue at 5-2 dual-meet record. Highlighting the returners is senior diver Jayden Pantel who capped its second-consecutive complete diving Ivy League Championship crown with a 2017 NCAA Championships performance.

An historic moment by Jayden Pantel concluded the 2017 Ivy League Championships on Saturday, Feb. 25. With a winning score of 398.45 in the three-meter dive, Pantel captured his second-consecutive sweep with titles in both the 3m and 1m dives.  A finals score of  338.5 in 1m dive earned a first-place finish by more than 18 points, besting his 2016 winning score of 314.20. He joined Mark Fichera ‘01CC as Lions to achieve sweeps in back-to-back seasons and finished the year unbeaten in Ancient Eight competition in both events.

At the NCAA Championships Pantel placed 38th overall in the three-meter dive on Friday behind a score of 304.5 points. On Saturday he returned to compete in the platform dive by tallying a score of 283.35 in the prelims for an overall finish of 30th.

He enters this upcoming season with a current 3m dive unbeaten streak of 21-0 in Ivy League dual-meet action and has a career record of 30-1 overall.

The Lions also return program record holders Michal Zyla (200 Back, 200 Free) and Jae Park (200 Breast).
