How can I join the Dodge Fitness Center?
Bring your school identification (Columbia University, Teachers College, Barnard, Manhattan School of Music, Bank Street College, Jewish Theological Seminary (JTS), Union Theological Seminary (UTS), St. Lukes, Riverside Church, or St. John the Divine ID) to the Membership and Ticketing Office located in the lobby of the Dodge Fitness Center.

What does my membership at Dodge Fitness Center include?

-160 meter Indoor Running Track
-Eight-Lane 25-Yard Pool
-Multi-Sport Gymnasia
-10 Squash Courts
-Scandinavian Suana and Showers

Who is eligible for membership to the Dodge Fitness Center?

-Alumni of Columbia University, Teachers College and Barnard College
-All CU students, staff, officers, visiting scholars, casual and temporary employees
-Students and employees of Teachers College and Barnard College
-Students and employees of Manhattan School of Music, Bank Street College, Jewish Theological Seminary (JTS), Union Theological Seminary (UTS), St. Lukes, St. John the Divine, Riverside Church
-Spouses/domestic partners and children, ages 6 to 19, of Dodge Fitness Center members
-Guests accompanied by a Dodge Fitness Center member can get a day pass.

Can I rent a private locker during my membership?
Yes, individual lockers are available for rent for the duration of your membership at the DFC.
  • Basic Locker Room Membership: Includes locker room service, use of 60” long temporary locker and a towel. All temporary lockers must be emptied when leaving the gym.
  • Blue Locker Room Membership: Includes rental of a 12” box locker for the duration of membership, use of temporary locker and towel service.
  • Bronze Locker Room Membership: Includes rental of a 30” squash locker for the duration of membership, use of temporary locker and towel service.
  • Silver Locker Room Membership: Includes rental of a 60” tall dress locker for the duration of membership, use of temporary locker and towel service.
  • Gold Club Locker Room Membership: Includes use of private Gold Club Locker Room, 60” Gold Club Locker, use of temporary locker, laundry and towel service.

How do I use a Temporary Locker?
By scanning your ID card you may borrow a key to the temporary locker and a towel.  The keys and towels are located right next to the running track (4th floor).  Please, always return your towel and a temporary locker key.

Is there a choice of locker room?
Yes, there are three locker rooms:
-Main Locker Room: Basic, Blue, Bronze, and Silver Locker Room Memberships (4th Floor).
-Pool Locker Room: Blue Locker Room Membership only (1st Floor, direct entrance to Uris Pool).
-Club Locker Room: Gold Club Locker Room membership only (4th Floor).

I left my items in a locker after my membership expired. Where are my belongings?
Abandoned items will be kept in storage for one term prior to disposal.  There is a $20 retrieval fee.  Storage of abandoned items is a coutesy, and the Dodge Fitness Center will not bear responsibility for missing items.  
 
How can I save time and money at Dodge Fitness Center?
-Purchase your membership for more then one term.
-Remember the duration of  your membership.  Avoid retrieval fees, please, renew or empty lockers on time.
-Some health plans will issue a generous refund for fitness facility membership fees.
-Prepare documents required to purchase membership.
-Save your receipts.

I am an American Language Program (ALP) student. How I can get a membership?
Please, visit the Membership Office (4th floor of Dodge Fitness Center) with your current Columbia University student ID card to pay the DFC Access Fee ($157). An additional charge will apply if you need a locker.

What is the DFC Access Fee?
Students who do not pay University Facility, Student Life or College Fees are subject to an access membership fee of $157 per semester. This includes students enrolled in the following programs: M&F, ALP, Health Sciences and Public Health. GSAS and Ph.D. students who are eligible for Student Access Membership will have this indicated on their tuition bill.

I just graduated. How do I purchase a membership?
Congratulations!  There are two membership options: 1) Student acess membership for the first term following graduation;  2) Alumni membership through June 30th, 2011. For an alumni membership, please present a document confirming you year of graduation (diploma, a photograph of your diploma, or transcript). 

I am a student, but don’t plan to take classes during the summer. Can I still use the gym?
Yes. A payment of DFC Access Fee of $157 will cover the use of the gym from May 24th until August 15th. 

Can my family members join?
Eligible family members include spouse/domestic partner and children, ages 6 to 19.  To obtain family membership privileges, please 1) bring proof of marriage or common residence (marriage certificate, utility bill, personal check, driver’s license, etc.) 2) primary member must have at least a basic membership (towel and locker service); 3)  bring state issued ID cards; 4) obtain DFC ID card if necessary. 

Does my spouse/partner/child need an ID card?
Yes.  The Membership Office will issue DFC ID cards to new members. However, Library CU ID cards can be activated to access the fitness facility.

Are guests welcome?
Yes, members are allowed to bring up to two guests for the day. Guest of a student pays $10 per day; Guest of an affiliate, employee or an alumni pays $15 per day.

My Columbia Card ID card does not provide me access to the DFC. What should I do?
Please visit the Membership (4th floor of Dodge Fitness Center) and talk to one of our membership representatives.  Students micht be asked to present a term bill to verify charges of University Facility, Student Life or College Fees.

My insurance can reimburse me for fitness center memberships. Whom do I contact?
Please check with your health benefits advisor for reimbursement requirements. We will support you with a print-out of your visits and receipts.  Please, always make sure to scan your ID card at the turnstile entrance. 

I am a student. How do I get tickets to football and basketball games?
All students with a valid Columbia Card (or Barnard College) ID may receive free admission to all Columbia football and basketball games. Valid ID must be presented at the student gate at Lawrence A. Wien Stadium or Levien Gymnasium to receive entry.

Do I have to be a member in order to hire a Dodge Fitness Center personal trainer?
Yes, your Dodge Fitness Center membership must be current in order to hire the services of one of our qualified personal trainers.

How do I hire a personal trainer?
You may visit the Personal Training Office located in Room 336 in the Dodge Fitness Center or you can register online at www.gocolumbialions.com/dfc.

Can I bring in my own personal trainer?
No, personal trainers who are not employed by the Dodge Fitness Center are strictly prohibited from doing business at the fitness center. While at the Dodge Fitness Center, members may only utilize the services of a Dodge Fitness Center personal trainer.

I passed my Required Physical Education class. How do I get a $20 refund for towel and locker service?
Always save your cash receipts. For a partial refund, please, bring your transcript, receipt and the same credit card.

How do I register for voluntary classes?
To view a list of courses or to register, please visit our website:www.gocolumbialions.com/dfc.  You may also come to the Physical Education Office, Room 336 (3rd floor). Present your CUID or Dodge Fitness Center ID with current membership.

tournaments in a variety of team and individual sports and activities.

and Cubs Camp programs offered throughout the entire year.
