Dan Benvenuto directs all marketing and promotions as well as ticket sales and operations efforts for the Department. He also provides oversight to fitness center membership operations. From 2008 until 2015, he also directed game operations for Athletics.

After spearheading ticket operations for a year and a half at Columbia, Benvenuto was promoted to Associate Athletics Director in July 2008.  As Director of Athletics Ticketing, Benvenuto led all efforts for football and basketball season ticket sales and renewals, single-game ticket sales, and event day management, working closely with the marketing department in implementing plans to increase ticket sales and attendance.

Benvenuto came to Columbia from Boston University’s Agganis Arena. As Ticketing and Group Sales Coordinator, he supported the daily ticket operations and was heavily involved in event management for the 6,300-seat venue. He also managed all group ticket sales outreach for BU hockey and basketball, while coordinating the implementation of ticket promotions designed to increase attendance and revenue for the two sports. He began his time at BU in a marketing role, supporting the sales of sponsorships and premium seating, developing contract agreements and creating sponsor recaps.

Before his time at BU, Benvenuto worked as a Marketing Assistant at the America East Conference in Boston, Mass., in 2003-04. While there, he coordinated the conference basketball championship advertising campaign and acted as a liaison for corporate sponsors. He also developed and managed in-game promotions at championship events.

Benvenuto is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts-Amherst Sport Management Master’s Degree program. While at UMass, he contributed to the Major League Soccer marketing research project for client AEG. He earned his bachelor of arts degree from Quinnipiac University.
