Mark Cisco Named Ivy League Rookie of the Week in Men's Hoops

NEW YORK -- Columbia's Mark Cisco was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.  It is the first career award for Cisco and marks the fourth straight year that a Columbia newcomer has earned Ivy League Rookie of the Week honors.

In his first collegiate start, Cisco had eight points and eight rebounds in 18 minutes of action at Quinnipiac on Wednesday, December 23.  A native of Chester, N.J., Cisco made three of his five shots from the field and added a blocked shot and an assist in the game. 

Cisco's eight points matched a season high for the 6-8 center, while his eight rebounds were a season high.  During the season, Cisco is making 56.5 percent from the field.

After four straight games on the road, Columbia is back in action on Wednesday, December 30 vs. Maine at 7 p.m. at Levien Gym.  Tickets are available by calling 888-LIONS-11 or at the Dodge Fitness Center ticket office.
