NEW YORK – The 2010-11 Columbia men's basketball schedule is out.  The Lions will open the season on the road at La Salle on Friday, November 12 and the Levien Gym faithful will get their first look at head coach Kyle Smith's squad on Monday, November 15 when Columbia hosts Maryland Eastern Shore at home at 7 p.m.

Columbia plays four of its next five on the road, beginning with a game against local rival St. John's.  After that road swing, the Lions return home to play their next three games, when Stony Brook, Wagner and Bryant will visit Levien Gym.

After a break for finals and the holidays, Columbia hits the road to square off with Maine, then rings in the new year against Elon at Levien Gym on January 2.  Following a game at Lafayette, the Lions host Division III Union before beginning Ivy League play at Levien Gym against Cornell.

The Lions will play six of their final eight games at home, beginning with a game against Princeton on February 11 and concluding with a weekend set against Yale and Brown to end the regular season.

Columbia returns three of its top five scorers from last year and looks to be rejuvenated under the guidance of new head coach Kyle Smith.  Fans can purchase season tickets for the 2010-11 men's basketball season online or by calling 888-LIONS-11.
