In 2012, Columbia saw a young receiving core blossom with the help of Davis. Junior Connor Nelligan posted 62 catches and 636 yards the most for a Lion wideout since 2007. Chris Connors emerged as the team’s No. 2 threat late in the year, leading the team with three touchdown grabs and 376 yards in five starts.
Davis was an assistant wide receivers coach/offensive quality control with the San Francisco 49ers in 2009-2010, and coached at Palo Alto High School in 2011-12. Just recently, Davis coached in the East-West Shrine Game.
"Wendell was the most fundamentally sound wide receivers I've ever worked with," Coach Mangurian said. "I have confidence that he can bring our players to that level."
