Women's Swimming Moves Into Top 25 Rankings

In the midst of a four dual-meet win streak, the Columbia women's swimming and diving team has moved into the latest Endless Pools/CollegeSwimming.com poll at No. 23, following the Lions' homecoming defeat over Brown. Columbia posted a 186-108 win of the Bears, where the team set three Uris Pool records, improving to 4-2 overall.

A total of 10 pool records have been set this season, including four at Columbia, three at Cornell, two at Rutgers and one at Yale. Senior captain Katie Meili has led the way with five individual pool records this season.

Pool Records This Season:

Yale: Katie Meili (1:02.36), 100 Breast           

Rutgers: Katie Meili (1:01.73), 100 Breast, (2:12.70) 200 Breast

Columbia: Meili, Smith, Drill, Huang (7:29.77) - 800 Freestyle Relay; Meili, Gaffey, Ray, Morris (1:42.54)-200 Medley Relay, Katie Meili (1:48.80) -200 Free, Caroline Lukins (2:01.30) - 200 Fly.

Cornell: Caroline Lukins (2:00.92) - 200 Fly, Katie Meili (1:02.44) - 100 Breast, Kristina Parsons (55.02) - 100 Fly

Up next, the class of 2013 will compete in Uris Pool for the final time on Friday, Feb. 8 as they take on Princeton at 2 p.m.
