NEW YORK - Columbia University Athletics has hired Jennifer L. White as its new Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance, Dr. M. Dianne Murphy, Director of Intercollegiate Athletics and Physical Education announced today.

White comes to Columbia after spending the past five years at Temple University, where she was most recently the Owls' Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance and Student Services.

"We are thrilled to have Jennifer with us at Columbia," remarked Dr. Murphy. "Compliance is a very important component of athletics administration in The Ivy League. We know that Jennifer will do a tremendous job for our athletics program in this most important administrative area."

White is a former track and field student-athlete from Lafayette College of the Patriot League, where she graduated with a BA in Government and Law in 2004. A native of Manalpan, New Jersey, White also received a Masters in Sport Management from Neumann College in 2007.

"Jennifer's compliance experience and ability to think creatively will bring a new dimension to the Office of Enrichment Services," notes Senior Associate Athletics Director/Senior Woman Administrator Jacqueline Blackett. "I look forward to working with Jennifer during this NCAA transitional period."

Prior to her experience at Temple, White worked at Seton Hall University as a compliance coordinator and Bryn Mawr College as an assistant track and field coach. She was selected after a national search to replace Ryan McAlvey, who left Columbia in December.
